Pasha Upgrades ISO Certification to 9001:2000

Monday, May 5, 2003

The Pasha Group, a diversified global transportation company headquartered in Corte Madera, California, recently participated in a nationwide audit to achieve the new internationally recognized ISO standard of certification, 9001:2000. Pasha’s Automotive and Maritime facilities have been ISO 9002 certified since 1999. ISO auditors focused on clear, measurable objectives for all departments as well as on the metrics that measure the achievement of the objectives. The company’s Transportation and Logistics Services divisions now meet the new published guidelines, and the Automotive and Maritime divisions have been upgraded as well to meet the new standard of 9001:2000.

To develop and implement a quality management system two important criteria needed to be met:

To standardize fundamental management processes throughout The Pasha Group's domestic and international operations and to maintain and foster the existing entrepreneurial and creative spirit at the individual sites.

George W. Pasha, IV, president and chief operating officer of The Pasha Group, added, "Though we are proud to publicize our successful ISO 9001 certification, the primary reason for implementing ISO was to streamline our overall business processes and to give our customers not only exactly what they want but to exceed their expectations. For us, ISO is a real business tool."

The Pasha Group is a diversified transportation company providing services which range from global automotive transportation and logistics solutions to ocean vessel chartering; stevedoring and terminal operations; international project freight forwarding and domestic and international household goods relocations.
